US Capitol Now A Sanctuary City

U.S. CAPITOL NOW SANCTUARY CITY BY EXECUTIVE ORDER

D.C’s Mayor Vincent Gray signed an executive order banning police officers from making inquiries into a person’s immigration status effectively granting amnesty to all illegal immigrants in the nation’s capitol. Law enforcement officers are also prohibited from sharing information about a person’s immigration status with federal agencies except when that status pertains directly to a criminal investigation. Likewise, agencies cannot detain suspected illegal immigrants on the basis of immigration status and forbids law enforcement agencies from making those in custody available to federal immigration enforcement officials for interviews without a court order.

NAPOLITANO: DHS AUTHORIZING ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS TO WORK IN U.S.

During yesterday’s hearing with the Senate Judiciary Committee, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano informed the nation that under Obama’s policy of exercising “prosecutorial discretion” when enforcing immigration laws, some illegal immigrants are being authorized to work in the United States. In defending the administration’s attempts to buy votes by doling out work authorizations, Napolitano grabbed straws claiming that “since around 1986” there has been a process for illegal immigrants to apply for work authorization. This is simply not true.

In 1986, President Ronald Reagan signed the Simpson-Mazzoli Act, which allowed illegal immigrants who requested a status change within 18 months of the law’s passage and who entered the U.S. prior to 1982 and resided in the country since that time to apply for a work permit. With14 million unemployed, it is nothing short of comforting to know that Obama and his higher-ups are putting the needs of Americans first.
