"Welcome to USA.gov," a website maintained by the Department of Homeland Security's U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), that touts itself as the "primary gateway for new immigrants to find basic information on how to settle in the United States" – starting with how to access welfare and other government "gimme" benefits.
As reported by The Daily Caller, the web page reads: "Depending on your immigration status, length of time in the United States, and income, you may be eligible for some federal benefit programs." ENTITLEMENTS, everyone?
It offers helpful links to other government websites explaining how to access benefits like Food Stamps, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Medicaid, Medicare, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and the "official website with information on all available federal benefit programs" offering a broken link to Benefits.gov/benefits in Spanish and English – "Your Path to Government Benefits" – "a partnership of many Federal agencies and organizations with a shared vision – to provide improved, personalized access to government benefits…" and also a link to the Social Security Administration's U.S. Government Benefits Help site:usgovernmentbenefits.org/index.php?pg=homgov
The USCIS government webpage boasts that "[f]ree public education for children is one reason many immigrants come to the United States."
USCIS also offers new immigrants a handy-dandy guidebook to getting on the dole in the United States with details about all the benefits, qualification and access to Federal and State assistance programs including Medicare, Medicaid, TANF, Food Stamps, SSI and the State Children's Health Insurance Program. The guide is available online and in print.
It's called "Welcome to the United States: A Guide for New Immigrants."
The Daily Caller highlights this alarming section:
"Most hospitals are required by federal law to treat patients with a medical emergency even if the person cannot pay," the guide tips. It goes on to advise that while "[y]ou or members of your family may be eligible for other federal benefits" it depends on "your length of time in the U.S., and income."
Neither is Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL), the ranking member of the Senate Budget Committee, who has taken a hard line against the Federal government's current open-door policy on immigrant welfare and wants the web page taken down.
"Some of these programs are clearly not available for immigrants," Sessions told The Daily Caller, "and it just creates confusion out there and suggests that if you can get into America, you can leave and get onto these programs, and from what we are seeing, many of these people are successful in getting on benefit programs that they are not lawfully entitled to."
The problem is not just the misuse of YOUR tax dollars to aggressively promote welfare programs to legal and illegal immigrants…
It is also a problem because the government is providing immigrants with visas KNOWING that they will avail themselves of government assistance AND allowing illegal immigrants to benefit from these programs with total disregard of the laws and regulations prohibiting them from being admitted to U.S. territory in the first place–never mind illicitly benefitting from citizen-only programs!
"From what we've learned from our inquiries from the government is that there's virtually no enforcement – no attempt, no enforcement – of the need for the immigrant to be self-sustaining," Sen. Jeff Sessions told The Daily Caller. "They're turning down almost nobody because they don't have a record, they're not going to be able to take care of themselves. They're turning down almost no one on the basis that they can't take care of themselves financially, and the facts show very large numbers can't. And very large numbers are getting benefits virtually as soon as they arrive in the country, and the government is advertising for them to do so."
Dependency promotion promotes a reliable, loyal voter pool!
In a recent analysis of census data by the Center of Immigration Studies, 36 percent of immigrant heads of households – both legal and illegal – used at least one form of welfare in 2010…
That's compared to just 23 percent of native-born heads of households!
The Daily Caller reports: "The heads of household from Mexico, Guatemala and the Dominican Republic constituted the highest users of welfare at 57 percent, 55 percent and 54 percent, respectively. The heads of households with the lowest participation were from Canada at 13 percent, Germany at 10 percent, and the United Kingdom at 6 percent."
Yet, with big government goodies and soaring victimization rhetoric, Barack Obama and the Leftwing on Capitol Hill have stayed in power with the help of the demographic groups that their economic policies are hurting the most!
What our country has isn't an ‘immigration' problem per se – what we have is an abuse of our goodwill, generous tolerance, and American belief in helping our neighbors.
We have been taken advantage of by illegal immigrants hoping to have a better life or to prosper, just as we've been taken advantage of by politicians concerned with building their voting bloc – BUT NEITHER HAVE RECIPROCATED WITH ANY CONCERN FOR THE COMMON GOOD, OR FOR THE STRAINED CITIZEN TAXPAYERS WHO MAKE AMERICA'S GENEROSITY POSSIBLE! These illegal opportunists and their grasping opportunist politician sponsors want MORE, and we do not have MORE to give! We have given too much already!
As a nation, we shouldn't be inviting legal immigrants in promising government benefits for which taxpaying citizens must compete, offering unnecessary free goodies that we can't afford – just as we shouldn't be giving illegal immigrants a free pass on violating our sovereignty, breaking our laws and exploiting our national generosity and liberality by taking advantage of an American system that is by nature resistant to Federal police-state mechanisms of enforcement.
We must cut off the handouts by first securing the border, enforcing the rule of law and then by de-incentivizing illegal immigration by cracking down on employers AND bureaucrats giving those here illegally jobs or giving them access to government programs from which they were never intended to benefit.
But we are up against fierce opposition to the rule of law!
RINO – Republican in Name Only – pro-immigration politicians are already hoping to cut their losses for failing to stand for conservative, pro-American principle following the election and are running down the "me-too Republicanism" path! They are seeking to woo the pro-amnesty voting bloc by playing "Stingy Santa Claus" to the "Socialist Santa Claus" of Obama and the Democrats – rallying around new cries for welfare dependency, government benefits, goodies and handouts!
A group of prominent turncoats are launching a new super PAC called Republicans for Immigration Reform, hoping to undermine us so-called "extremists" who believe in the rule of law, and that a sovereign nation should have secure borders and a secure immigration system!
The group's organizers, led by Carlos Gutierrez, the Cuban American commerce secretary under President George W. Bush, and Charlie Spies, co-founder of the pro-Romney super PAC Restore Our Future, told the Washington Post that it will "help smooth the way for wavering Republican lawmakers to vote next year for immigration overhaul."
The pro-amnesty PAC has yet to cite a fundraising goal but with close ties to big corporate America (which benefits from looser immigration laws and CHEAP ILLEGAL LABOR) and with the Super PAC ability to accept unlimited donations, we are up against a fierce fundraising machine.
After all, Spies' pro-Romney PAC raised a whopping $142 million for the 2012 campaign.
We can only imagine how much they plan to rake in with plans to promote amnesty at the expense of public safety and at the expense of hardworking Americans whose jobs have been lost or their wages crushed due to the influx of cheap illegal immigrant labor.
Remember, Ronald Reagan in good faith trusted that if he granted blanket amnesty to illegal immigrants in 1986 PROMISED ENFORCEMENT WOULD FOLLOW FROM CONGRESS, our sovereign borders would be protected, and the Hispanic community would work with the GOP! NO ENFORCEMENT WAS ENACTED, the Republican Party actually lost Latino votes in the following election, and we now have upwards of 11 - 20 MILLION ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS irremediably ensconced in American territory, yet NO ONE knows who they are or what is to be done about them!
But that's not stopping the RINOs from shamefully throwing the American people under the bus in their efforts to further their own political careers, and nothing will stop them except YOU.
We have the American people on our side.
A post-election poll from Gallup revealed that only 37% of American's think providing amnesty should be a top priority. Thirty-seven percent – that's it – while 62% of Americans think stopping illegal immigration should be the top priority when it comes to "comprehensive immigration reform."
But gutless, spineless House Speaker John Boehner and GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham think conservatives should surrender our sovereignty and our borders, and jump on the amnesty bandwagon – that's why we need your conservative and middle-of-the-road Members of Congress to hear YOUR VOICE, and hear about the latest national polls!
With Barack Obama committed to pushing "comprehensive immigration reform" during the Lame Duck session even BEFORE his January inauguration, we don't have a moment to lose.
We must continue demanding that our elected representatives protect America from the open-borders agenda. We must dig in our heels, and we must win the fight against amnesty or lose everything.
We don't want to needlessly punish people, least of all hardworking and law-abiding people already regularizing their status to be loyal U.S. Naturalized Citizens and legal immigrants. However, we do want to protect the livelihoods of American workers – especially at this point in time when our country is in the greatest recession since the Great Depression!
Never doubt that we have the winning argument for minorities, for legal immigrants obeying the laws, for U.S. Citizens, for the economy and for America.
We MUST enforce our border security, and we MUST demand Congress not throw U.S. naturalized Citizens and law-abiding LEGAL immigrants under the bus for illusions of temporary, selfish political gain.
