URGENT: Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), a notorious anti-gun zealot who co-wrote the original federal assault weapons ban in the 1990s, is now pushing for more stringent mandates in what is being called "the most significant attack on the Second Amendment in history."

One week after Barack Obama's "victory," America's Second Amendment is under vicious attack from international globalist governance groups like the United Nations.

Now, we're learning that our Right to Keep and Bear Arms is not only not being defended in Washington – it is under attack on Capitol Hill where Sen. Diane Feinstein is proposing a radical change that would ban thousands of firearms and ultimately require gun owners to hand them over to the federal government.

California Senator Dianne Feinstein's legal staff held meetings on Friday with FTB and ATF legal staff to discuss the possibility of a new "Assault Weapons Ban," just like Barack Obama hinted at during the pre-election presidential debates…

Right now, Feinstein wants to reintroduce Clinton era gun control regulations that she cosponsored and had pass in 1994, and then she wants to go one step further.
According to one source who attended the meeting, the banned items would include pistol grips and "high-capacity" magazines. The new ban would also eliminate any grandfathering of weapons and ban sales of "weapons in possession."

Feinstein first alluded to her renewed aggression against our gun rights at a Congressional budget meeting in September:

"Ladies and gentlemen, it is time to say, once again, in legislation, weapons of war do not belong on our streets…"

Unless we dig in our heels right now, Feinstein and her rabid gun control legislation will pass the Leftwing, Democrat majority Senate. Barack Obama is the only ally she really needs to make it happen, and he's already on board…

The maneuvering at the U.N. to bring back the international gun ban treaty is back on the fast track TODAY! And domestic legislation for gun control, weapons and ammo bans are coming fast and furious!
Illegal, illicit, UNCONSTITUTIONAL – we know Obama will do whatever it takes to make sure that WE THE PEOPLE are disarmed.

If Barack Obama's anti-gun agenda is not stopped, our Right to Keep and Bear Arms as AMERICANS will exist only on paper. Our Second Amendment will be obliterated because the ability to exercise our Constitutional Right will be impossible.

To know what we're up against just look at this sampling of Barack Obama's anti-gun record, as we have reported to you previously, and is now being confirmed in The Blaze:

In 1996, as candidate for the Illinois state Senate,Obama endorsed the state's handgun ban. He alsosupported legislation to "ban the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns," to"ban assault weapons" and to require "mandatory waiting periods and background checks."

Then once in the state Senate, Obama sought to require the licensing and registering of gun owners.
In 1998, as part of the "Illinois National Political Awareness Test" from Project Vote Smart, he made clear his support to "ban the sale or transfer of all forms of semi-automatic weapons."

Two years later, Obama co-sponsored a state bill to limit handgun purchases to one per month.

In 2005, Obama opposed a bill that would protect firearms manufacturers from lawsuits for harm resulting from unlawful misuse of their products.

Obama opposes in concept ALL citizen concealed carry.

While pandering to his anti-gun base at a 2008 fundraising in San Francisco, he described Americans in rural Pennsylvania and the Midwest as "bitter" people who "cling to guns."

Regarding the D.C. handgun ban that same year, Obama publicly indicated that he believed an outright ban was Constitutional and supported it.
Obama contends that "just because you have an individual right does not mean that the state or local government can't constrain the exercise of that right."

Sure, Obama was politically compelled to sign a law to allow firearms in national parks. Yes, he claims to believe in the right to bear arms, but his record speaks for itself. In fact, Obama is a committed gun-grabber carrying water for the gun control selling lies to the uninformed American people that gun control is in the best interest of public safety.

This is such an absurd claim that even millions of dollars of federally-funded (yes, your tax dollars hard at work) junk science at the National Institutes of Health has conclusively demonstrated that gun control advocates can't back it up – in fact, years of data review and case studies have proved just the opposite: gun ownership saves lives.

Then there is the blatantly obvious example of Obama's stomping grounds in Chicago. As of October 29, the total number of homicides reached 438, up 23 percent from last year DESPITE (because of!) some of the most stringent gun control laws in the country.

This was two months AFTER Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel rushed a new anti-gun ordinance into place using the completely irrelevant Colorado movie theatre massacre as an excuse to permanently bar anyone convicted of any felony from legally owning a firearm, while imposing a five-year ban on gun ownership for anyone convicted of a misdemeanor violent crime

Instead of attributing the murder of more Chicago residents than U.S. troops killed in Afghanistan to a degenerate criminal culture of gang members and drug dealers possessing ILLEGAL firearms, the problem of rampant inner-city violence is blamed by Chicago leftist pols on legal gun ownership and the Second Amendment!

This is all part of the Obama administration's hatred and targeting of our Right to Arms! At the national level, CBS News found evidence that ATF officials involved in the "Fast and Furious" illegal gun-running scandal used the gun sales they oversaw as a pretext to call for gun control!

Our Founding Fathers knew 250 years ago that armed citizens were free citizens, not subjects.

George Mason warned America in 1788 that "to disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them."
As a nation, we've watched from afar the very real and very deadly examples of what happens when a government disarms its people.

Likewise, common sense and statistics have also repeatedly affirmed that gun ownership and gun rights lead to less violence while states and areas with restricted gun ownership and few carrying rights are riddled with violent crime.

It's only a matter of time before the next tragedy – another movie theater massacre, another round of international ILLEGAL gun-running by our federal government or something terrible in the wake of a Hurricane Sandy or some similar disaster– is successfully used to justify diminishing, restricting or nullifying our Second Amendment by legislation, making it a meaningless "right" because it is impossible to exercise.

Within hours after Dear Leader's re-election, the Obama administration revived the United Nations' stagnant efforts to regulate the Right to Keep and Bear Arms in America!

The Obama administration MOVED TO ADVANCE THE STALLED U.N. GUN TREATY TO THE FULL GENERAL ASSEMBLY, a scant one day after Obama's re-election to a second term!
Obama is falsely claiming that the newly revived U.N. Gun Grab applies only to firearms exports, not the Constitutional gun rights secured for Americans by our Founding Fathers.

According to the U.N. treaty's own wording, countries are "to take the necessary legislative and administrative measures to adapt, as necessary, national laws and regulations to implement the obligations of this treaty."

Though the treaty is supposed to be about 'gun exports,' its provisions can still be applied domestically. Activist judges adjudicating cases arising under the treaty and enabling legislation could see to that. The definition of international commerce could follow the same expansive logic liberal courts have used to redefine 'interstate commerce.' Anything that indirectly or incidentally affects the trade in arms would fall under its control.

We've obtained a copy of the treaty wording, and it's not about 'gun exports' like the Obama administration wants us to believe…
The U.N. Gun treaty reads:

It must require States [countries – like the United States] to assess the risk that serious violations of international humanitarian law and human rights law may be committed with the weapons being transferred.
Secondly, it must include within its scope all conventional weapons, including small arms…
The treaty must also include ammunition within its scope…
It must ensure that there are no loopholes by covering all types of transfers, including activities such as transit, trans-shipment, as well as loans and leases.

MAKE NO MISTAKE: The U.N. Gun treaty will systematically dismantle our Second Amendment, and once ratified there will be no going back.
As an international 'treaty,' the U.N. Gun Grab will have so-called "constitutional authority" to be applied not only to imported/exported weapons and ammunition BUT ALSO to those weapons and ammunition capable of being exported yet never even leave the country.

WASHINGTON
(Reuters) - The United States reversed policy on Wednesday and said it
would back launching talks on a treaty to regulate arms sales as long as
the talks operated by consensus, a stance critics said gave every nation a
veto. The decision, announced in a statement released by the U.S. State Department, overturns the position of former President George W. Bush's administration, which had opposed such a treaty on the grounds that national controls were better.

On Wednesday Obama Took the First Major Step in a Plan to Ban All Firearms in the United States . The Obama administration intends to force gun control and a complete ban on all weapons for US citizens through the signing of international treaties with foreign nations. By signing international treaties on gun control, the Obama administration can use the US State Department to bypass
the normal legislative process in Congress. Once the US Government signs these international treaties, all US citizens will be subject to those gun laws created by foreign governments. These are laws that have been developed
>and promoted by organizations such as the United Nations and individuals such as George Soros and Michael Bloomberg. The laws are designed and intended to lead to the complete ban and confiscation of all firearms.

The Obama administration is attempting to use tactics and methods of gun control that will inflict major damage to our 2nd Amendment before US citizens even understand what has happened.

Obama can appear before the public and tell them that he does not intend to pursue any legislation (in the United States) that will lead to new gun control laws, while cloaked in secrecy, his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton is committing the US to international treaties and foreign gun control laws. Does that mean Obama is telling the truth?

What it means is that there will be no publicized gun control debates in the media or votes in Congress. We will wake up one morning and find that the United States has signed a treaty that prohibits firearm and ammunition manufacturers from selling to the public. We will wake up another morning and find that the
US has signed a treaty that prohibits any transfer of firearm ownership.

And then, we will wake up yet another morning and find that the US has signed
a treaty that requires US citizens to deliver any firearm they own to the
local government collection and destruction center or face imprisonment.

Remember CANDIDATE Barack Obama? The guy who “wasn’t going to take away our guns”?

Well, guess what?

Less than 100 days into his administration, he’s never met a gun he didn’t hate.

A week ago, Obama went to Mexico, whined about the United States, and bemoaned (before the whole world) the fact that he didn’t have the political power to take away our semi-automatics. Nevertheless, that didn’t keep him from pushing additional restrictions on American gun owners.

It’s called the Inter-American Convention Against Illicit Manufacturing of and Trafficking in Firearms, Ammunition, Explosives, and Other Related Materials. To be sure, this imponderable title masks a really nasty piece of work.

First of all, when the treaty purports to ban the “illicit” manufacture of firearms, what does that mean?

1. “Illicit manufacturing” of firearms is defined as “assembly of firearms [or] ammunition ... without a license....”

Hence, reloading ammunition -- or putting together a lawful firearm from a kit -- is clearly “illicit manufacturing.”

Modifying a firearm in any way would surely be “illicit manufacturing.” And, while it would be a stretch, assembling a firearm after cleaning it could, in any plain reading of the words, come within the screwy definition of “illicit manufacturing.”

2. “Firearm” has a similarly questionable definition.

“[A]ny other weapon” is a “firearm,” according to the treaty -- and the term “weapon” is nowhere defined.

So, is a BB gun a “firearm”? Probably.

A toy gun? Possibly.

A pistol grip or firing pin? Probably. And who knows what else.

If these provisions (and others) become the law of the land, the Obama administration could have a heyday in enforcing them. Consider some of the other provisions in the treaty:

* Banning reloading. In Article IV of the treaty, countries commit to adopting “necessary legislative or other measures” to criminalize illicit manufacturing and trafficking in firearms.

Remember that “illicit manufacturing” includes reloading and modifying or assembling a firearm in any way. This would mean that the Obama administration could promulgate regulations banning reloading on the basis of this treaty -- just as it is currently circumventing Congress to write legislation taxing greenhouse gases.

* Banning gun clubs. Article IV goes on to state that the criminalized acts should include “association or conspiracy” in connection with said offenses -- which is arguably a term broad enough to allow, by regulation, the criminalization of entire pro-gun organizations or gun clubs, based on the facilities which they provide their membership.

* Extraditing US gun dealers. Article V requires each party to “adopt such measures as may be necessary to establish its jurisdiction over the offenses it has established in accordance with this Convention” under a variety of circumstances.

We know that Mexico is blaming U.S. gun dealers for the fact that its streets are flowing with blood. And we know it is possible for Mexico to define offenses “committed in its territory” in a very broad way. And we know that we have an extradition obligation under Article XIX of the proposed treaty. So we know that Mexico could try to use the treaty to demand to extradition of American gun dealers.

Under Article XXIX, if Mexico demands the extradition of a lawful American gun dealer, the U.S. would be required to resolve the dispute through “other means of peaceful settlement.”

Does anyone want to risk twenty years in a sweltering Mexican jail on the proposition that the Obama administration would apply this provision in a pro-gun manner?

* Microstamping. Article VI requires “appropriate markings” on firearms. And, it is not inconceivable that this provision could be used to require microstamping of firearms and/or ammunition -- a requirement which is clearly intended to impose specifications which are not technologically possible or which are possible only at a prohibitively expensive cost.

* Gun registration. Article XI requires the maintenance of any records, for a “reasonable time,” that the government determines to be necessary to trace firearms. This provision would almost certainly repeal portions of McClure-Volkmer and could arguably be used to require a national registry or database.

ACTION: Write your Senators and urge them to oppose the Inter-American Convention Against Illicit Manufacturing of and Trafficking in Firearms, Ammunition, Explosives, and Other Related Materials.

Dear Senator:

I am urging you, in the strongest terms, to oppose the Inter-American Convention Against Illicit Manufacturing of and Trafficking in Firearms, Ammunition, Explosives, and Other Related Materials.

This anti-gun treaty was written by international bureaucrats who are either stupid or virulently anti-gun -- or both.

This treaty could very well ban the ability to reload ammunition, to put new stocks on rifles lawfully owned by American citizens, and, possibly, even ban BB guns!

There are too many problems with this treaty to mention them all in this letter. The rest can be read on the website of Gun Owners of America at:

Please do not tell me the treaty has not yet been abused in this way by the bevy of Third World countries which have signed it. We do not expect the real ramifications of the treaty to become clear until the big prize -- the U.S. -- has stepped into the trap.
