It’s like a bad science fiction/horror movie.
We are seeing our country being setup for massive cultural change which does not benefit Americans. We are changing our laws not to suit Americans but to suit the needs of non citizens who have broken our laws and entered our nation illegally.
I don’t get it. It is as if the people who are voting for this amnesty do not consider themselves to be Americans and have absolutely no sense of culture or identity or connection with other real Americans. It’s as if these Amnesty supporters, by some strange leap of logic, feel that grafting into our society tens of millions of people who have shown their contempt for our laws will somehow benefit us as a nation.
These Mexicans are people who come from a failed nation which has failed primarily because its citizens do not respect law and order. This is perhaps the most significant defining difference between Anglo-American and Mexican culture. Anglo-American culture has great respect for law and order and formality and structure and propriety and this leads to a safe society which is conducive to individual accomplishment and the pursuit of happiness for its citizens.
When you feel safe, you are quick to leave your home and pursue your interests free from the worry of harm. You can go to the park or to the library or off to the University secure that you and those who you love are safe and don’t need you at home to protect them. You can drive to the store without feeling the need to carry a gun. You don’t have to put steel bars on your windows. You do not have to invest in an alarm system for your place of business (you can use that money to buy something nice instead). You don’t have to worry about parking your car on a city street during the day when you stop to get a bite to eat.
When you do not feel safe, however, you change your life and your behavior accordingly to maximize your safety with an “opportunity cost” of doing the things you’d like to be doing if you lived in a neighborhood without...gangs or burglars or thugs who will stick you up when you park your car on a city street
In direct contrast with Anglo-American culture, Mexican culture does not create a safe society. Mexican culture hasn’t provided for a stable middle class to act as a buffer between rich and poor or to serve as the nation’s glue or as the great social stabilizer through its respect for law and order and civil propriety.
Mexican culture, Mexican behavior norms, create a society where corruption is the NORM amongst people in positions of authority, not the exception. Their public officials do not have the presumption of trust from the common citizen which arguably exists in the United States. Their police are assumed to be corrupt by the common citizen and must prove themselves honest. Their society is a nightmare when compared to ours and that’s one big reason why their population is trying so hard to enter our nation and live here.
Mexicans themselves as individuals are the key to changing Mexico, but they don’t get this necessity. “Someone else” needs to change things for them is the refrain I’m always hearing from Mexican social activists. Unfortunately for us, and I’ve seen this myself after living in Los Angeles for 13 years, they recreate here what they left behind in Mexico; corruption, over-population, crime, and a deadly lack of respect for law and order. They bring their ‘norms’ with them and graft them into our society.
In fact, they are so alien in their behavior norms that they make Americans, who live in communities targeted by illegal immigration, feel like aliens in their own country. And our lawmakers, the majority of Democrats and at least 23 Republicans, don’t see this. They don’t see how Mexicans overwrite the local culture by making Americans living in communities targeted by illegals-- MOVE AWAY because the Americans do not feel comfortable or safe or like they’re living in their own country anymore.
And this exodus by Americans from such areas creates de-Americanized zones where only the skeleton of Anglo-American civilization remains-- our houses, our plumbing, our roads, our bridges, our power grids, or schools, our universities, but now exclusively populated with a newly arrived Mexican population which broke our laws getting here in the first place.
It’s so damned infuriating to see our own politicians refuse to acknowledge that we have our own culture and that its worth defending that...it makes me sick.
